It always fascinates me how people in their about pages try to tell how good and perfect they are. Probably nothing wrong with that, after all you have to sell yourself. I will tell you about us here, and how good and perfect we try to be. I will also tell you how not so good and imperfect we can be, after all we are just like everybody else around here….. all too human.

 

QuarterShark Web design

QuarterShark.com is a family business. It is not a huge conglomerate – just yet! We are not there yet, and may not be for some time to come, but we are striving to grow in that direction.

We consist of a husband and wife team who do web design and web development. Combined with this, we blend into that strategic business design and development as it relates to the web. Both of us bring two very different brands of expertise to the business venture and have two very distinctive styles in approach and execution of - well… just about everything.

We are Andre and Prevanya Kirsten. The close to perfect wife, and the far from perfect husband.

Who is Andre?

His background….

A qualified and admitted attorney by profession, his true passion and focus is information technology and specifically development of applications and internet driven applications.

In this duo, Andre is the technical mind behind every web design venture that is embarked on. A self taught computer programmer, he brings the programming know how that is used in the web design process and all the web development that is done at quartershark.com

Andre was virtually born with a computer on his lap in a time before there was anything like the internet, in a time when micro computers was the “in thing”, in a the time before ms dos and far before windows became a household name. Andre started to develop software for people before he left the 5th grade.

Andre became involved in web design and web development in 1996 at the time when the internet was starting to make its debut in South Africa. He has been developing applications since the early 1980’s.

The good part…

He is punctual and delivers on time. He is realistic about what can be achieved and the time frames that are required to do so. He is brutally honest when it comes to what is possible and what is not. He does answer his phone when you call him, and answers his emails likewise.

He tends to bug his clients with improvement ideas for their web sites, and has a never ending stream of ideas for improving profits and margins. He is very creative and likes nothing better than to search for perfection as far as web and graphic design is concerned.

When you converse with him he actually does appear to want to do business, is a flexible individual when it really matters and goes the extra few miles. Contact his clients,- they will actually tell you the same thing.

And yes, he was actually issued with a sense of humor as standard.

The not all that good part…

He cannot spell a word to save his life. He is terrible at using language and grammar. His wife is the editor in chief in that regard. He can be unstructured at times – as are most people who are very creative, but again this is where his wife comes in. He also leaves the toilet seat up when it is suppose to be down!

He rides superbikes, and NO! - He does not stick to the speed limit. Then he goes paragliding every now and again, a very dangerous activity that could get him hurt or injured badly.

He has a bad temper when he gets bad service, and fails to understand the concept of bad service completely.
He after all is the far from perfect husband, but we don’t have enough space on this page, so we will stop the list here.

Who is Prevanya?

Also a qualified attorney, she specializes in commercial law. A legally qualified business strategist, she protects the interests of large business corporations by day and ensure their compliance with statutory provisions. Her duties are many and her responsibilities are vast. 

Her daily routines consist of analyzing risks and assessing their likelihood, planning for them, mitigating them and assisting large corporations in making multi-million rand decisions that can and in most cases do change thousands of people’s lives every day.

She brings an entire barrage of business expertise to our web design effort and ensures that our business strategies are sound.

The good part….

She has an eerie ability to accurately predict the outcome of an idea or operation before it has even commenced. She is excellent at predicting human behavior and consequence. She smells rats even before they are born and has an eye for perfection.

She can spell and use grammar and language very well. She loves animals and children and does welfare work on the side. She has an obsessive compulsiveness in drafting checklists for everything, noting operations to the minutest of details.

The not all that good part…

Because she is the close to perfect wife, the list has to end here.
